Role overview This is a backend engineering role on a Stats & Analytics team that tackles complex distributed systems problems in an advertising technology platform. The work focuses on scalability, performance, reliability, and data consistency across high-throughput services. The team is organized into Data Ingestion, Data Platform, and Data Delivery sub-teams, and engineers contribute to a modern data stack.
Responsibilities - Build highly scalable, distributed real-time microservices primarily in Go. - Work with large datasets across a variety of databases and data stores, including Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Redis, ScyllaDB, Redshift, TiDB, and MariaDB. - Use lakehouse and real-time analytics technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Apache Trino, StarRocks, and ClickHouse. - Develop software that integrates with messaging queues and streaming systems including Kafka, SQS, and Kinesis. - Write performance-efficient and memory-optimized code suitable for high-throughput environments.
Requirements - Two or more years of experience as a backend software engineer. - Very strong problem-solving skills across data structures, algorithms, and optimization. - Experience working with relational databases, key-value stores, or both. - Hands-on experience building scalable microservices and distributed systems.
