About this role
Role overview Take a senior engineering role in the design and optimization of large-scale programmatic advertising systems. The work focuses on high-throughput bidding infrastructure, real-time decisioning, applied machine learning, and close collaboration with product and engineering teams in a remote environment.
Responsibilities - Lead and collaborate on the design, implementation, and continuous optimization of programmatic bidding services. - Apply statistical, analytical, and data-driven methods to evaluate performance and guide experiments. - Partner with machine-learning engineers to architect and build practical, production-ready advertising solutions. - Optimize distributed systems that process exceptionally high request volumes with millisecond-level latency requirements. - Work with product teams to deliver new features and translate business goals into reliable technical capabilities. - Promote operational excellence, constructive technical feedback, transparent decision-making, and pragmatic execution across backend teams.
Requirements - At least three years of experience in adtech or martech, preferably with high-scale or performance-critical systems. - At least five years of software development experience, including distributed systems, scalable microservices, or high-volume data pipelines. - Advanced programming ability in Go, or strong proficiency in a comparable language such as C++, Java, Scala, or Rust. - Practical experience applying machine learning, mathematics, and numerical methods, including production models or real-time inference systems; this is an applied engineering position rather than a research role. - Hands-on experience with multiple database systems and a clear understanding of their performance trade-offs. - Strong computer science fundamentals, particularly data structures and algorithms.
Nice to have - Interest or experience in computational graphics, GPU programming, game development, game theory, or financial trading systems. - Curiosity about new technologies and a rigorous, data-driven approach to evaluating ideas.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work setup with work-from-home reimbursement. - Published base salary range of USD 160,000–220,000 for candidates in the United States or CAD 170,400–234,300 for candidates in Canada. - Retirement or pension savings support, paid time off, health benefits from the first day of employment, and access to a mental health program. - Training, onboarding, and support for professional development, including conferences, courses, books, and relevant certifications. - Parental leave and other benefits may vary by country and local employment arrangements.
