About this role
Role overview
Join an engineering team building an on-premises platform where data scientists and the organizations that depend on them explore data, deploy applications and agents, and consume MCP servers with full visibility and reproducibility. The team is reimagining analytical tooling for an era of AI-generated code and agentic workflows, and the work spans data science, infrastructure, and applied AI. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will bring a builder's instinct to a group shipping new capabilities from concept through customer release.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship features across the product suite, including capabilities the team has not yet imagined. - Prototype rapidly to clarify value when requirements are ambiguous, then drive ideas into production. - Contribute to feature planning sessions, share feedback on direction, and eventually own feature planning end-to-end. - Collaborate across the team to teach what you learn and lift teammates who are stuck. - Balance AI-driven approaches with traditional engineering when the use case calls for it, leaning on user empathy to make those calls. - Engage with internal and external users to understand how the product is actually used and feed that back into the roadmap.
Requirements
- Proficiency in either Go or TypeScript. - Proficiency in either Python or R. - Experience with backend systems, data tooling, or data science frameworks. - Demonstrated ability to ship successful products and deliver measurable customer value. - High agency: a bias toward prototyping to resolve ambiguity rather than waiting for answers. - Boldness in learning: comfort tackling unfamiliar subjects, asking questions, and admitting what you do not know. - User empathy and product sense, with a willingness to make judgment calls and be wrong in service of solving real problems.
Nice to have
- Prior domain experience with data science as a practice. - Curiosity about AI as a product capability, including the discernment to know when AI is not the right answer. - A collaborative, generous approach to sharing knowledge across the team.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote team; an in-office option is available for those who prefer it. - Monthly coworking reimbursement for members who want a workspace outside the home. - Generous paid time off, with a minimum of four weeks per year plus fifteen paid company holidays. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families, including fertility and gender-affirming care. - Supplemental mental health and wellness benefits available independently of the insurance plans. - Gender-neutral paid parental leave covering all new parents, including foster and adoptive parents. - 401(k) enrollment available from day one, with a substantial employer match beginning after six months of employment. - Annual profit-sharing bonus tied to company performance. - A Lifestyle Savings Account with an initial deposit and quarterly stipend for professional development, wellness, financial health, charitable giving, and remote work support.
