Quality Engineer

Role overview Quality Engineer role focused on test automation for a large-scale programmatic marketing platform. The position sits inside a cross-functional agile environment and is responsible for building reliable, scalable automated checks that protect product releases from defects.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain in-house automation and functional test scripts covering functional, system, API, integration, UI, and regression scenarios. - Collaborate with Platform, Product, DevOps, and adjacent teams to deploy and execute automated suites on shared test environments through CI/CD. - Deliver timely, clear test result feedback to the Platform team, QA, and other stakeholders. - Contribute to technical planning, code reviews, and architectural decision-making as the automation surface evolves. - Design test cases that account for edge inputs, negative paths, compatibility variations, and concurrency conditions.

Requirements - Two or more years of hands-on test automation experience with API and UI frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Mocha, Jest, or JUnit. - Fluency in at least one of JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java. - Working knowledge of CI/CD tooling like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI. - Solid grasp of scalable system design for web-based APIs and backend processing systems. - Familiarity with QA methodologies in a software organization operating on short release cycles. - Experience with relational databases, including writing SQL to query large datasets.

Nice to have - Background using test case management tools such as TestRail.

Benefits and work setup - Remote-first role open to candidates located anywhere in Canada. - Base salary band of $84,000–$115,500 CAD, with potential eligibility for additional compensation such as annual bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and a benefits package that may include health coverage from day one, retirement or pension contributions, paid time off including a birthday off, mental health support, and work-from-home reimbursements.
