About this role
Role overview Contribute to the development of high-availability, real-time Android point-of-sale software powering restaurant operations, with a particular focus on payments and payment processing. The role spans hands-on engineering, subsystem-level design, and technical leadership within a hospitality product group that builds tools for both full-service and quick-service restaurants. Expect close collaboration with product, design, and backend engineering teams to ship impactful features for operators and patrons.
Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Android-based point-of-sale software. - Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, design, and backend engineering to define, build, and deliver impactful features. - Ensure software quality and reliability through automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices. - Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to team members, fostering continuous improvement and innovation. - Address and resolve technical challenges, applying sound judgment and creativity to recommend effective solutions. - Contribute to subsystem-level design work, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. - Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to influence the product roadmap and technical decisions.
Requirements - 8+ years of professional experience developing Android applications. - Fluency in both Java and Kotlin. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience building high-availability, real-time systems, preferably in the payments or financial technology domain. - Understanding of secure payment protocols, PCI compliance, and payment processing workflows preferred. - Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. - Strong problem-solving skills with experience tackling complex technical challenges. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
