Role overview
Join a focused Billing engineering team building the next-generation subscription and invoicing infrastructure for a fintech platform. The role centers on designing and shipping a brand-new Billing 2.0 module from scratch, replacing prior systems with a scalable foundation that handles complex B2B pricing, automated revenue retries, and high-volume transactions.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship the foundational Products & Prices domain model and public APIs from scratch. - Build high-precision volume and graduated pricing engines for multi-tier enterprise billing. - Decouple critical services from the Products API to eliminate single points of failure and improve platform uptime. - Lead the automated payment retry engine across all invoices to recover failed transactions. - Write and maintain automated tests at unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end levels as the primary quality strategy. - Collaborate within a small cross-functional team (PM, engineers, automation QA, domain analyst) to deliver billing features.
Requirements
- 2+ years of backend engineering experience with Go, PHP, Kotlin, Java, Python, or Node.js. - Hands-on experience covering code with unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests. - Strong understanding of high-load system design principles. - Experience with PostgreSQL and queues or event-streaming systems. - Proactive, communicative, independent, and results-oriented work style.
Nice to have
- Background in payment systems, fintech, or financial services. - Experience with Kafka, AWS services, and CI/CD pipelines.
