Software Engineer (f/m/d) – Cross-Platform SDK Development

Role overview This role focuses on building cross-platform SDKs that work across a fragmented device landscape, from living-room streaming devices like Apple TV and Fire TV through Android, HbbTV, and iOS. The engineer will shape how these platforms fit together, ensuring a consistent architecture rather than a patchwork of one-off solutions. The position is remote by default, with on-site collaboration in Berlin or Cologne for architectural work and brainstorming.

Responsibilities - Develop and extend high-performance SDKs that operate reliably across the entire CTV and mobile ecosystem - Drive technical consistency by identifying overlaps between platforms and unifying architectures so all SDKs share a common language - Contribute to the technical and product roadmap, balancing fast feature delivery against strategic refactoring and debt reduction - Implement platform-specific logic on top of a shared TypeScript core, ensuring each SDK feels truly native on its target OS - Champion a rigorous testing culture using Jest and Vitest, and grow the team through mentoring and demanding code reviews

Requirements - Deep TypeScript expertise, including complex architectural work beyond the basics - Experience with cross-platform SDK or library development across mobile and TV devices - Strong sense of ownership, willingness to push features forward without micromanagement, and direct, drama-free collaboration style - Comfort making pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and technical debt - A portfolio, side project, or demo repository demonstrating production-ready work

Nice to have - Hands-on experience with React Native - Familiarity with CTV-specific platforms such as HbbTV, Fire TV, or Apple TV - Background in mentoring engineers and elevating team engineering standards
