Senior Staff Prototyping Engineer, iOS

Role overview Lead early engineering work for new iOS product experiences, taking ideas from ambiguous problem statements through prototypes, production launch, and ongoing improvement. Responsibilities - Set technical direction for complex, cross-team mobile initiatives, from initial exploration through rollout and continued development. - Build and ship working prototypes that help define the iOS experience for major product opportunities. - Partner with product and design to balance user needs, technical constraints, performance, reliability, and maintainability. - Align stakeholders around priorities when goals are unclear, then move quickly from ideas to shipped features. - Establish mobile engineering and operational practices, and influence technical decisions beyond the immediate team. - Mentor experienced engineers and support the wider mobile engineering community.

Requirements - 10+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial work on polished, complex iOS applications at scale. - Deep knowledge of Swift and modern iOS development, including application architecture, lifecycle, concurrency, networking, and performance. - Experience leading large, ambiguous technical initiatives across organizational boundaries and delivering meaningful business impact. - Evidence of starting new initiatives, shaping a path from prototype to production, and building organizational support for the work. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to align senior stakeholders and teams across engineering, product, and design. - Practical experience with Combine, Swift Concurrency (async/await and actors), and dependency injection frameworks.

Benefits and work setup - Remote locations listed include New York and California, with San Francisco specified for California. - The listed base salary range is $218,400–$365,200 annually, with a higher range of $263,200–$401,400 for select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas.
