Senior Software Engineer (Data Analytics)

Role overview Join a collaborative engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in data analytics, where you will shape and maintain the data platforms that power enterprise decision-making. This position blends cloud architecture, data engineering, and analytics visualization, supporting both internal application development teams and program leadership with timely insights and automated reporting.

Responsibilities - Architect, build, and evolve analytics infrastructure spanning AWS Athena/S3, Elasticsearch, and Google Analytics - Design, refine, and automate extract-transform-load pipelines for new data streams - Manage the data lifecycle including retention, curation, catalog management, and schema design or extensions, with a focus on automation wherever practical - Produce visualizations and automated reports through Kibana, AWS QuickSight, and Google Analytics 4 for engineering teams and program leadership - Translate technical information about system architecture and design into clear communication for varied audiences

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline - 6+ years of professional experience in a data analytics engineering role - US Citizenship - 3+ years building applications with Python and/or Node.js - Hands-on experience with modern data paradigms such as data lakehouse or data mesh architectures - Familiarity with storage formats and systems including Apache Parquet, Apache Iceberg, SQL, and NoSQL databases - Experience developing cloud-native applications with serverless services such as Lambda, ECS, Fargate, SQS, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Kinesis, Glue, and Athena - Working knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and infrastructure-as-code through Terraform or CloudFormation - Comfort with DevOps practices including Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing - Availability to work 8am-5pm Eastern Time

Nice to have - Elasticsearch cluster sustainment paired with Kibana visualization - Tracking and reporting enterprise application usage through Google Analytics - Operational support background including monitoring, troubleshooting, and bug fixes - Service desk customer support experience with a track record of positive user relationships - Exposure to statistical analysis, machine learning, or other advanced analytics techniques
