Data Scientist - Navy

Role overview Build and improve enterprise data systems and analytical capabilities in support of a naval mission. The work spans database development, data modeling, governance, quality controls, and advanced analysis, with an emphasis on reliable, scalable data workflows that inform organizational decisions. This is a remote, mid-to-senior-level position requiring an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities - Develop, maintain, and optimize databases and structured information systems. - Create data models, schemas, dictionaries, and standards that promote consistency across systems. - Establish data quality checks, validation routines, and governance processes. - Design workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and lifecycle management. - Conduct analytical modeling, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and risk assessment. - Build scripts and automated tools to improve processing efficiency and system performance. - Work with cross-functional teams to translate data needs into technical solutions and recommend integration or capability improvements.

Requirements - Active Secret security clearance. - Experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions at an enterprise level. - Expertise in database development, data modeling, and structured data workflows. - Ability to manage data quality, governance, and lifecycle processes. - Skills in analytical modeling and automation using tools or scripts. - Ability to collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders and advise on data management practices.
