A remote Sales Engineer role partnering with Account Executives to close faster-cycle commercial and mid-market deals. The position centers on running crisp demonstrations, conducting technical discovery, and producing repeatable proof points for a Datadog-native observability product aimed at enterprise fleet operations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with commercial and mid-market AEs through discovery, demos, and technical validation - Deliver Datadog-based demonstrations that surface metrics, events, monitors, and fleet tagging in context - Translate prospect constraints into practical deployment outlines covering agent placement, tags, and dashboards - Address technical objections on bandwidth, data residency, packaging, and rollout scope - Capture win and loss technical notes so demos and talk tracks keep improving - Collaborate with technical solutions operations on demo environments and with enterprise solution architects on complex escalations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sales Engineer supporting commercial or mid-market deal cycles - Hands-on familiarity with Datadog or comparable monitoring and observability platforms - Ability to turn technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical buyers - Comfort operating in fast-paced sales cycles with repeatable proof patterns - Strong collaboration skills across sales, operations, and architecture teams
Nice to have
- Background with agent-based telemetry, tagging strategies, or fleet-scale infrastructure - Industry exposure in maritime, aviation, energy, emergency response, or remote-site operations
