Data Solutions Architect - Data Science

Role overview

This position centers on designing and delivering data science solutions for onboard operational technology systems. The role blends customer-facing discovery with hands-on modeling, helping defense and commercial fleet operators improve readiness, resilience, and mission assurance through predictive analytics and cybersecurity-grade insights.

Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end data science engagements, from problem definition and hypothesis framing through delivery of actionable results - Convert one-off customer findings into reusable components that generalize back into core product offerings - Partner with embedded analysts, deployment strategists, and forward-deployed engineers to translate complex analyses into immediate customer value - Conduct advanced statistical analyses on operational data to surface trends, diagnose issues, and build predictive capabilities - Collaborate with engineers and leadership to recommend process improvements, system modifications, and long-term data strategies - Juggle multiple engagements simultaneously while staying focused on scalable, reusable solutions

Requirements

- Fluency in Python, SQL, R, or Matlab, with strong skills in scoping data needs and designing technical tests that validate hypotheses - Demonstrated ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences, paired with openness to feedback - Willingness to travel up to 40% within the US - US citizenship and ability to hold or obtain an active US Government Top Secret security clearance

Nice to have

- Experience working with time-series data - Master's or Doctorate in Data Science or a closely related field - Industry background in defense, aerospace, or cybersecurity
