Junior Software Engineer (Argentina)

Role overview

An early-career software engineering role on a fintech team building consumer and merchant-facing shopping and payments experiences. The position supports the full software development lifecycle, contributing to features that power installment-based checkout and the broader retail platform.

Responsibilities

- Participate as an integrated team member in the software development lifecycle, building new features alongside senior engineers. - Develop, write, and document functionality for high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software. - Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics that improve engineering output. - Provide support and consulting on software systems usage for internal stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with project plans, industry standards, and established coding conventions.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience. - 0-3 years of professional experience, suited to early-career engineers. - Experience working on single page web applications. - Experience with backend API development and relational database storage and retrieval. - Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools, with comfort using AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication. - Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodology, and release processes.

Nice to have

- Exposure to the listed technology stack, which includes Golang and TypeScript on the backend, React and React Native on the frontend, MySQL, Postgres, and Elasticsearch for data, and AWS with Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD for DevOps.

- Remote, full-time position based in Argentina. - Monthly gross compensation range of $1,500 to $2,700 USD, depending on experience and skills. - Interview process includes a Wonderlic test, a coding assessment, recruiter and engineering interviews, and a leadership conversation.
