Role overview
Lead IT strategy and operations across delivery depots, engineering labs, corporate offices, and subsidiaries for a company developing autonomous sidewalk delivery robots. The position blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, scaling infrastructure to support rapid geographic expansion, acquisitions, and ongoing robotics R&D while keeping systems reliable, secure, and easy to use.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the multi-year IT roadmap, owning budget, vendor selection, contracts, and major technology investment decisions in step with growth and R&D priorities. - Partner closely with engineering, security, operations, HR, finance, facilities, and growth teams so IT enables expansion and robotics innovation. - Lead IT planning for new markets, new facilities, and acquisitions, including diligence and post-close integration work with minimal business disruption. - Oversee enterprise infrastructure, networks, and cloud services with a sharp focus on uptime, scalability, and IoT and edge-device deployments that support live robot operations. - Drive collaboration, productivity, and ERP implementations while consolidating SaaS vendors, licenses, and related budgets. - Partner with security to strengthen identity and access management, endpoint protection, segregation of duties, and incident response, and maintain compliance with SOX, SOC 2, GDPR, and similar frameworks. - Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing IT organization, set SLAs across offices, labs, and depots, and continually improve helpdesk, lifecycle automation, and end-user experience.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with at least 8 years leading teams. - Demonstrated success running complex, distributed enterprise IT environments at high-growth, technology-driven companies. - Hands-on experience supporting live operations across multiple time zones through periods of rapid expansion. - Deep expertise across networking, cloud platforms, identity management, and core enterprise systems. - Track record of hiring, developing, and scaling both IT teams and the underlying infrastructure they run. - Strong communication, leadership, and vendor management skills, with a reputation for reliability, responsiveness, and closing the loop with cross-functional partners.
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to M&A IT diligence and integration in a scaling technology organization. - Familiarity with robotics, IoT, or other edge-heavy operational environments.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote work available for candidates located in Canada, with a posted base salary range of $230,000 to $310,000 CAD; compensation may vary by location, experience, and role alignment, and US-based salary ranges may apply to US candidates.
