About this role

Role overview A life-sciences data platform company is hiring a Technical Solutions Architect to join its Professional Services team, the group that owns every client's journey from initial deployment to running production-grade scientific workloads. The role blends hands-on infrastructure engineering, client-facing consulting, and the build-out of internal tooling that makes deployments repeatable across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. It suits a technical generalist who enjoys shifting between deep infrastructure work, automation, and direct conversations with scientists, bioinformaticians, and enterprise IT teams.

Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end client implementations, from requirements gathering through to a working platform deployment in cloud, hybrid, or on-prem settings. - Stand up the underlying infrastructure, including networking, DNS, TLS, private certificate authorities, identity and secrets management, container runtimes, and pipeline storage. - Deliver successfully whether given full account access or very limited access, guiding the client's own IT personnel through changes while respecting their security and compliance constraints. - Build deployment tools with pre-flight checks, clear failure messages, tests, and documentation so non-experts can run them long after handover. - Partner with sales and scientific teams on solution shaping and proof-of-concept deployments. - Act as a senior escalation point, spotting recurring client issues and turning them into lasting fixes with internal engineering and product teams.

Requirements - Strong hands-on experience in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Background spanning infrastructure, automation, and client-facing delivery in a production context. - Practical experience working with HPC schedulers such as SLURM or Grid Engine. - Track record of technical pre-sales work alongside commercial teams. - Familiarity with scientific workflow orchestration tools, ideally including pipeline frameworks used in bioinformatics. - Comfort operating in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.

Nice to have - Multi-cloud expertise across two or more providers. - Deep fluency with AI-assisted development tools, paired with the judgment to review and own the output before it reaches clients.

Benefits and work setup - Flexible working hours within an international team spanning more than 25 nationalities. - 23 days of vacation plus three additional company days in December, plus local public holidays. - Equity participation. - Private health and life insurance. - Meal benefits via a flexible benefits card. - Home office setup bonus valued at over 1,000 USD. - Mental health app subscription. - Annual learning and development budget of around 1,000 USD. - Team retreats and bonding activities, with a culture that values individual input and impact on the industry.
