About this role

Role overview This Technical Solutions Architect sits within a Professional Services team that owns the client journey from initial deployment to running production-grade scientific computing workloads. The role blends cloud infrastructure deployment, client-facing technical leadership, and tooling/automation work, serving life sciences and biotech organizations that need to operationalize data pipelines at scale. It is a generalist position with areas of specialization, suited to someone energized by switching between hands-on engineering and structured client conversations.

Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end client implementations across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments, from requirements gathering through to a working platform deployment. - Stand up the underlying infrastructure, including networking, DNS, TLS, private certificate authorities, identity and secrets management, container runtimes, and storage layers. - Deliver within varying client access models, guiding customer IT teams through changes while respecting security and compliance constraints. - Build deployment tooling and automation with pre-flight checks, clear failure modes, tests, and documentation so non-experts can run them reliably after handover. - Partner with pre-sales teams to shape solutions and run proof-of-concept deployments. - Act as a senior escalation point and convert recurring client issues into durable product and process improvements alongside internal engineering.

Requirements - Strong depth in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Solid grasp of infrastructure fundamentals: networking, DNS, TLS, IAM, secrets management, and container runtimes. - A computing or technical background with the ability to operate across both implementation and client engagement. - Experience in technical pre-sales and working in startup-style environments. - Hands-on familiarity with Nextflow or comparable workflow orchestration tooling.

Nice to have - Multi-cloud expertise and exposure to HPC schedulers such as SLURM or Grid Engine. - Real fluency with AI-assisted tooling for infrastructure-as-code, scripting, runbooks, and documentation, paired with the judgment to review and own the outcome.

Benefits and work setup - Flexible working hours within an international team environment. - 23 vacation days plus 3 additional days in December and local public holidays. - Equity participation, private health insurance, and private life insurance. - Meal benefits, a home office bonus, a mental health app subscription, and an annual learning and development budget.
