Role overview This Staff Site Reliability Engineer position sits within a dedicated Government SRE team responsible for the technical reliability of regulated cloud environments and the coordination of compliant deployments into them. The role operates at the intersection of FedRAMP-style compliance obligations and the need to deliver a consistent software experience that mirrors commercial environments. U.S. citizenship and residence in the United States are required, with possible customer or third-party background checks up to Secret Clearance depending on assignment.
Responsibilities - Drive continuous software delivery, resolve production incidents, run post-mortems, and build automation for deployment, self-testing, and alerting. - Lead incident management for production issues, ensuring rapid recovery, thorough root cause analysis, and follow-up preventative actions. - Improve the observability strategy in collaboration with application engineering teams to strengthen monitoring and reduce alert noise. - Define, implement, and monitor SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs with product and engineering partners to align with business objectives. - Own and coordinate all government environment releases, driving pipeline efficiency, reliability, and visibility improvements. - Ensure infrastructure and releases meet FedRAMP, government, and industry standards while maintaining required documentation and risk assessments.
Requirements - 8+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering for SaaS, including 4+ years operating at large scale. - 2+ years of production experience with a container orchestration system, including experience with canary or blue-green release patterns. - Hands-on background with industry-standard observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry, plus incident management processes. - Proven track record supporting FedRAMP, security, risk management, and compliance processes for software releases. - Experience working directly with government agencies or in other highly regulated industries. - Familiarity with testing strategies and automation in large-scale environments.
