MDR Analyst - Overnight Shift

Role overview

An overnight Managed Detection and Response Analyst position operating on a four-day schedule, Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM Eastern Time. The role centers on monitoring, triaging, and responding to security threats across a global enterprise customer base using an AI-native endpoint and cloud protection platform alongside internal digital forensics and incident response tooling. It is a mid-level, hands-on seat on a globally distributed, collaborative security operations team.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and triage security alerts, drive active incident response, and guide customers through remediation and mitigation steps. - Query and analyze log data across endpoint, cloud, and network telemetry to identify and contextualize threats. - Tune and provide feedback on detection rules to reduce alert noise and improve signal quality. - Author clear, detailed incident reports tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Partner with detection engineering, threat intelligence, and adjacent security teams to strengthen detection coverage and overall service quality. - Mentor fellow analysts individually and in group settings, and contribute to ongoing process improvements and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

- 2–4 years of experience in a security operations center, incident response, MDR, or comparable environment. - Hands-on experience with SIEM and EDR platforms. - Comfort investigating alerts originating from commercial endpoint, SIEM, and detection platforms. - Working knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures, including MITRE ATT&CK, phishing, and lateral movement. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate analytical reasoning to varied audiences.

Nice to have

- Prior experience mentoring analysts or acting in a knowledge-multiplier capacity on a SOC. - Exposure to cloud and identity telemetry sources beyond traditional endpoint logs.
