Role overview
This Engagement Manager role leads the delivery of consulting-style compromise assessments, serving as the operational link between threat hunters, client stakeholders, and internal teams. The position owns the full engagement lifecycle from intake and scoping through delivery, while applying practitioner-level technical knowledge to quality-control analysis and reporting. Engagements include telemetry-driven threat hunts spanning M&A due diligence, post-breach reviews, insider threat work, and adjacent source code vulnerability assessments delivered through an AI-accelerated offering.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of telemetry-based compromise assessments, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to scope. - Lead scoping and business development activities, gathering requirements and coordinating telemetry access with clients and account teams. - Assign threat hunters to engagements based on capacity, monitoring workload balance across the team. - Manage the customer communication cadence, including status updates, review calls, and ownership of escalations. - Oversee evidence and data handling, including retention and deletion timelines at engagement closure. - Track retainer hour budgets, request scope uplifts, and contribute to internal documentation and delivery playbooks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on practitioner experience in threat hunting, security analysis, or incident response. - Strong client communication skills with executive stakeholders, account teams, and legal counsel. - Demonstrated ability to own customer escalations end-to-end and contribute to process improvement. - Self-starter mentality with comfort collaborating alongside fellow engagement managers. - Ability to translate complex technical findings into business impact for non-technical audiences.
