Director of Product Management and IT Operations

Role overview This is a senior leadership role for a tech-enabled service organization operating in the employee benefits administration space. The position blends hands-on product management with IT operations ownership, guiding a proprietary software platform from roadmap through launch while keeping the underlying infrastructure secure and reliable. The hire will partner closely with an executive team and an offshore development group to translate complex billing workflows into scalable, user-friendly software.

Responsibilities - Define and prioritize the product roadmap in partnership with a global product manager, ensuring alignment with business goals and the long-term technology vision. - Lead the full product development lifecycle, from idea intake and user research through detailed user stories, specifications, and release. - Provide technical oversight to the development team on feature design, enhancements, and operational fixes. - Drive compliance with security and privacy standards such as SOC 2 and HIPAA, safeguarding organizational data and systems. - Manage stakeholder relationships across customers, investors, and internal teams, gathering requirements and communicating progress. - Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including helpdesk support, onboarding for new hires, and rapid response to operational incidents.

Requirements - Significant experience in a product management role with a strong foundation in software development and project management. - Direct background in employee benefits, benefits administration, or a closely related technology domain. - Demonstrated ability to design software solutions that address complex, real-world operational problems. - Strong communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Experience leading or partnering with global or offshore development teams. - Practical knowledge of IT operations, helpdesk support, and core cybersecurity principles, ideally with familiarity in SOC 2 and HIPAA.
