Engineering Manager

Role overview

An Engineering Manager position leading a small team responsible for a workforce-focused product set within a cybersecurity compliance organization. The work begins with stabilizing and debugging existing systems, then transitions into rebuilding policies and user access frameworks in close partnership with Product Management. It is a leadership opportunity to shape a foundational product area and deliver visible impact alongside a collaborative engineering group.

Responsibilities

- Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of 4–7 engineers, owning hiring, development, and performance management practices - Partner with Product Managers to define roadmaps, plan project execution, and align engineering priorities with business goals - Champion product quality, reliability, and overall user experience across the workforce product area - Review and approve technical design documentation and architectural decisions - Support sales efforts and customer-facing conversations as a technical liaison

Requirements

- 2+ years of experience managing and inspiring remote engineering teams, including hiring, retention, and performance management - 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with proven technical leadership in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions - Proficiency in agile development and project management, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within resource constraints - Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse teams toward common goals - Hands-on Ruby experience - Genuine passion for technology and staying current with industry trends and advancements
