Role overview A leadership role within mobile game quality assurance, overseeing distributed QA teams supporting a large-scale live game title. The position combines people management, process improvement, and cross-functional partnership to deliver reliable live operations and release excellence. The work spans internal and external development, localization, marketing, customer support, and live operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop a distributed QA team across the full game development lifecycle - Build on existing team metrics to measure product quality and operational excellence - Advocate for quality and champion continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation - Communicate issues, risks, and successes clearly to stakeholders, partners, and executives - Drive strong collaboration across internal and external development, QA, and localization teams - Partner with team leads to plan assignments and schedules for all quality-related activities - Continuously evaluate and improve QA, release, and deployment processes - Partner closely with engineering, live operations, marketing, and customer support teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in quality assurance - 2+ years of management experience across the full game development lifecycle - Proven experience working on a live mobile game with a large and active player base - Deep understanding of QA methodologies, frameworks, and industry best practices - Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence teams toward exceptional product quality - Experience embedding QA practices within multidisciplinary development teams and partnering with marketing, customer service, and live support
Nice to have
- Experience building and leading distributed or remote teams - Strong knowledge of software testing, change management, and process improvement, plus proficiency with bug-tracking and test-plan management tools - Background in mobile free-to-play or core gaming environments - Familiarity with release management, automation, and quality metrics
Benefits and work setup
- Remote within the US and Canada, or hybrid based in Culver City - For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA, an annual base salary range of $98,600–$145,000 USD, with potential eligibility for equity, bonuses, healthcare, retirement benefits, paid holidays, and unlimited paid time off
