Remote job
Enterprise Core Sales Engineer - Midwest
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This is a remote, U.S.-based pre-sales engineering role covering the Midwest region, partnering with senior account executives to grow existing enterprise accounts and close new logos in physical-operations industries. The position blends direct customer-facing technical selling with internal team leadership, including testing early-stage product features, managing projects, and building automations that help the broader sales engineering organization scale.
Responsibilities
- Co-sell alongside senior account executives on complex enterprise pursuits, from discovery through close, with a focus on both expansion and net-new deals. - Own the technical sales motion: craft narratives, handle objections, design custom workarounds, and deliver advanced integrations that address prospect-specific requirements. - Lead hands-on product demonstrations and deep-dive technical sessions with IT, operations, and executive stakeholders. - Capture field learnings and share them with the wider sales engineering team via meetings, internal messaging, and documentation. - Source product information, validate alpha features, and run structured tests that feed back into the product roadmap. - Drive internal projects, process improvements, and automation initiatives that raise the team's overall effectiveness.
Requirements
- Substantial hands-on experience in enterprise software pre-sales or sales engineering, with a track record of winning complex deals. - Demonstrated ability to scope custom integrations and bespoke solutions when standard offerings fall short. - Strong storytelling, presentation, and objection-handling skills with both technical and executive audiences. - Familiarity with connected operations technology areas such as video-based safety, vehicle telematics, asset/equipment monitoring, or driver workflow applications. - Comfort working independently across multiple concurrent pursuits while operating as a senior resource for peers. - Project management skills for balancing customer engagements with internal improvement work.
Nice to have
- Domain background in agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, or manufacturing. - Prior experience mentoring other sales engineers or contributing to enablement programs.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote within the United States. - Sales territory focused on the Midwest region. - Reasonable-accommodation support available throughout the recruiting process for candidates with disabilities.
