Security Operations Engineer

Role overview Own hands-on security operations engineering for internal platforms, strengthening infrastructure and establishing repeatable processes as the security function grows. The work spans cloud and corporate systems, security assessment coordination, monitoring, automation, and clear operational documentation. Applicants must be located in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities - Coordinate external security assessments and vulnerability testing, including vendor communication, schedules, and remediation follow-through. - Design and operate a security information and event management capability, with log pipelines that improve visibility across systems. - Securely configure and harden new infrastructure, applications, and corporate systems. - Use automation and AI tools to improve incident detection, reduce false positives, and streamline routine security work. - Develop threat intelligence review practices and share relevant, actionable updates with technical and non-technical teams. - Document hardened systems and workflows in repeatable runbooks and support their handoff into operations.

Requirements - Practical expertise securing cloud environments, networks, identity providers, and enterprise software services. - Experience leading technical projects across teams and working with external security vendors. - Ability to turn vulnerability findings into clear remediation actions. - Strong technical writing and communication, including explaining architecture and security developments to varied audiences.

Nice to have Security or cloud and systems certifications, such as Security+, CEH, GISF, AWS, or Google certifications.

Benefits and work setup Fully remote for candidates in the United States or Canada. Listed base salary is $115,000–$130,000 USD or $110,000–$125,000 CAD, depending on experience, with bonus, stock options, and benefits.
