Remote job
Chief Technology and Product Officer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior executive position leading combined product and engineering for a growing web data platform. The role follows a recent acquisition that merged scraping infrastructure with structured data APIs, and the next mandate is to unify these into a single AI-native platform. You will report to the CEO, sit at the leadership table, and combine hands-on technical depth with executive product ownership.
Responsibilities - Own end-to-end product and technology strategy across scraping infrastructure, proxy networks, and structured data API product lines. - Lead, scale, and develop a 25+ person product and engineering organisation distributed across multiple countries and time zones. - Set technical architecture direction for high-scale, high-reliability systems, including proxy management, anti-bot evasion, and large-scale scraping. - Drive AI and modern ML tooling into both the product surface and the team's internal ways of working. - Define and execute a single product roadmap spanning the recently merged product lines. - Represent product and technology at board level and partner with the CEO and commercial leadership on strategy. - Stay close enough to the code and infrastructure to troubleshoot, fix, or challenge technical decisions personally.
Requirements - Track record leading product and/or engineering at a highly technical company, ideally at a 25+ person organisation, in roles such as CTO, CPO, or VP Engineering. - Hands-on depth in web scraping, proxies, or closely adjacent infrastructure, including comfort responding when sources break. - Demonstrated experience applying AI and ML both inside shipped product capabilities and across engineering workflows. - History of owning product vision and technical architecture together rather than only one side. - Board-level communication skills with the confidence to constructively challenge a hands-on CEO. - Nice to have: experience integrating product lines after a merger or acquisition.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote with location-flexible working hours. - High-trust environment with minimal bureaucracy and sustainable pace. - Small, collaborative team culture with cross-portfolio knowledge sharing among peer product teams. - Flexible paid time off to recharge.
