About this role
Role overview Mid-level QA Specialist role for a team building and scaling multiple direct-to-consumer subscription products. Quality is treated as a first-class concern woven through every sprint and release, and the position mixes hands-on manual exploratory testing with automation, API validation, and end-to-end funnel testing.
Responsibilities - Test web applications and native Android and iOS applications - Design and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, edge cases, and end-to-end scenarios using Playwright and TypeScript - Perform exploratory and risk-based testing to surface issues that scripted tests miss - Act as first line of investigation for customer complaints by reproducing issues, reconstructing user sessions from available data, and triaging whether the cause is a product defect, data issue, or third-party failure before escalating - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enforce quality gates on every merge - Validate backend APIs using Postman or equivalent tools - Verify data correctness and integrity at the Postgres level using SQL queries - Validate complete user flows across product surfaces, analytics events, payment provider dashboards, email tooling, and the database - Document bugs with precise reproduction steps, environment and build details, logs, and screenshots, and prioritize by severity and impact
Requirements - Three or more years of hands-on QA experience in a product or SaaS environment - Strong test automation experience, with Playwright plus TypeScript strongly preferred - Solid experience with API testing using Postman or a similar tool - Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend verification - Experience testing subscription funnels, checkout flows, or payment systems - Excellent attention to detail with a methodical, structured approach to testing - Strong ownership mindset and comfort working remotely in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment - Fluent written and spoken English
Nice to have - Experience with performance or load testing tools such as k6 or Locust - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions - Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Sentry or Better Stack - Background in fintech, subscription, or health and wellness digital products - ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
