Engineering Manager - Digital Platform

Role overview A hands-on Engineering Manager role leading engineering capability and quality across a digital platform built on Salesforce and a modern headless web stack. The position supports B2C consumer experiences and a B2B provider platform, gradually transitioning delivery from external partners to a stronger in-house team.

Responsibilities - Drop into code to debug critical production issues, unblock engineers, and validate architectural decisions - Own the strategic vendor relationship, holding partners accountable to staffing, capability, and role-level expectations across pods - Plan and execute a 12-18 month roadmap that transitions work in-house, sequenced by risk and value - Hire, onboard, and grow the internal engineering team, including performance management and career development - Run audits of code quality and architecture health, and plan technical debt remediation across both stacks - Own platform reliability targets, incident response health, and post-mortem follow-through

Requirements - 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years managing engineering teams - Hands-on full-stack background that has shipped production code and retains the ability to debug and contribute - Demonstrated experience building or growing internal engineering teams through hiring and development - Track record of transitioning work from vendors or consulting partners to internal teams - Deep technical fluency on both Salesforce (Apex, LWC, Loyalty Cloud) and modern web (React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node) stacks

Nice to have - Experience managing offshore vendor or consulting partners - Familiarity with self-service models for marketing and business teams (CMS, configuration-driven UI) - Comfort operating in matrix structures where Product owns outcomes and Engineering owns capability - Background in life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated environments (HIPAA, GxP awareness) - Experience with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows - CSM, PSM, or comparable agile certification
