About this role
Role overview
Build and maintain automated testing that helps a software team release reliable updates to a claims-processing platform. You will shape test strategy with Product, Engineering, and QA, balancing automated coverage with hands-on testing where it is most useful.
Responsibilities
- Turn business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria into test plans covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end workflows. - Design and maintain automated tests for web applications, APIs, and system behavior, along with reusable libraries and team standards. - Evaluate and implement the test automation framework, expand coverage, and keep scripts current as the product changes. - Run automated smoke, functional, and regression suites; perform manual checks when automation is impractical or features are new. - Log defects with clear reproduction details, work with developers to investigate and verify fixes, and assess release readiness. - Share quality status, risks, and metrics, and improve testing practices in collaboration with cross-functional Agile teams.
Requirements
- 3–5 or more years of QA experience, with a strong focus on test automation. - Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks; hands-on Playwright experience is required. - Intermediate SQL skills and experience validating data in databases. - API testing experience with Postman, plus experience using Jira and Agile or Scrum methods. - Understanding of software testing methods, the development lifecycle, and defect management. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with clear written and verbal communication across technical and business teams.
Nice to have
- Experience building an automation framework from the ground up, or testing healthcare, claims-processing, or other enterprise software. - Familiarity with performance or load testing, or experience mentoring QA colleagues on automation practices.
