Role overview A Product Owner role supporting a healthcare cost containment and medical claims repricing business. The position drives product vision, backlog management, and execution in an Agile setting, with a strong emphasis on translating business and regulatory needs into well-defined user stories. It partners closely with engineering, QA, operations, compliance, and client stakeholders in a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities - Own and manage the product backlog in JIRA, prioritizing features, enhancements, and defects against business value and strategic goals. - Write clear user stories with measurable acceptance criteria to guide engineering and QA teams. - Partner with clients, operations, compliance, engineering, QA, and leadership to gather, refine, and document requirements. - Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and related Agile ceremonies. - Define the product roadmap and release plans aligned to business and regulatory priorities. - Ensure delivered features meet business objectives, operational needs, and healthcare regulatory requirements. - Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and efficiency gains. - Partner with QA to validate acceptance criteria and support high-quality releases. - Track metrics, risks, and delivery progress, providing clear status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements - 3 to 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Product Manager in an Agile environment. - Strong hands-on JIRA experience including backlog management, workflows, dashboards, and reporting. - Demonstrated ability to write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. - Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint execution. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills. - Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical deliverables. - Experience in healthcare technology, healthcare operations, or other regulated environments strongly preferred. - Knowledge of medical cost containment or out-of-network pricing is a plus.
