Backend Software Engineer, PDP Experience

Role overview

This is a backend software engineer position contributing to the systems behind a product experience surface referred to internally as the PDP experience. The engineer will design, build, and maintain the server-side services that power user-facing interactions within that area, working closely with product, design, and frontend partners. The role is fully remote and based in the United States.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support the relevant product experience surface - Translate product and design requirements into reliable, scalable server-side implementations - Write production-ready code with appropriate tests, documentation, and operational considerations - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and engineering planning sessions - Debug production issues, monitor service health, and contribute to reliability and performance improvements - Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences

Requirements

- Hands-on experience as a backend software engineer in a product-focused environment - Strong proficiency with at least one backend programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or similar - Solid understanding of API design, data modeling, and relational or non-relational databases - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and service performance optimization - Comfort working asynchronously in a distributed, remote-first team - Clear written and verbal communication skills
