About this role
Role overview
Lead the engineering delivery of card programs as they expand into new markets. You’ll guide market-entry work from regulatory and processor integrations through cross-team coordination and stable post-launch operations, combining hands-on technical leadership with delivery ownership across engineering, product, compliance, and operations.
Responsibilities - Own the engineering workstream for launching card programs in new jurisdictions, translating local network, sponsor, open-banking, and regulatory requirements into technical plans. - Coordinate integrations with local vendors, issuer processors, and BIN sponsors to meet market-specific requirements. - Align delivery across teams such as treasury, onboarding, compliance, infrastructure, and data, managing shared dependencies through launch. - Participate in technical design and guide engineering strategy for card market expansion. - Support stable operations after go-live and drive improvements to reliability and ongoing program support. - Partner with product, compliance, and legal stakeholders to define appropriately scoped engineering work.
Requirements - Experience leading engineering teams in fast-moving or high-growth environments. - Background with card networks and card lifecycle management, including transaction processing. - Experience delivering cross-functional programs with dependencies across systems such as ledgers, KYC, compliance, and infrastructure. - Familiarity with observability and CI/CD practices, plus the ability to guide technical decisions and delivery. - Understanding of relevant financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions and ability to work through their engineering implications. - Familiarity with AI- or LLM-assisted development.
Nice to have - Exposure to 3DS, tokenization, digital wallets, PCI compliance, issuer processor integration, or BIN sponsor coordination. - Knowledge of frameworks and rules such as PSD2, GDPR, open banking, US money transmission, FinCEN requirements, or regional card-network rules. - Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work with a global team and substantial ownership of market launches. - Insurance coverage after probation, a card stipend, and access to AI tools for experimentation and learning.
