Software Engineer, Full Stack

Role overview

A remote full stack engineering role focused on designing, building, and shipping features across a healthcare registry platform spanning the frontend, backend, and database layers. The position involves integrating third-party healthcare, messaging, and operations platforms while partnering closely with product, data, and clinical operations teams in a fast-moving environment that values clear cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and ship full stack features across the registry platform, covering UI, services, and database work - Build and maintain integrations with healthcare, messaging, and operations platforms, including EMR, RCM, and CRM systems - Develop and maintain APIs and webhooks with careful attention to idempotency, retries, and data reconciliation - Evolve Postgres schemas and queries while balancing performance, data integrity, and clarity - Translate product and operational requirements into technical designs in collaboration with cross-functional partners - Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, participate in code review, and support CI/CD pipelines and observability - Follow HIPAA and security best practices when handling protected health information - Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause analysis across teams

Requirements

- 3–6+ years of professional software engineering experience as a full stack developer - Proficiency with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript stack such as React/Next.js on the frontend and Node.js or Python on the backend - Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases, with Postgres preferred - Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party SaaS platforms - Comfort working across the entire stack rather than specializing in a single layer - Strong testing discipline and code quality habits, including code review and documentation - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote startup environment and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners - Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging workflows

Nice to have

- Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry, with familiarity handling HIPAA and PHI - Hands-on work with EMR or RCM platforms - Healthcare data experience in a warehouse or BI environment - Familiarity with healthcare data standards and interoperability such as FHIR, HL7, or X12/837-835 - Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS or GCP), containerization with Docker, and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions - Prior early-stage startup experience with comfort in ambiguity and shifting priorities
