Role overview This staff-level, forward-deployed engineering lead drives AI-powered operational transformations inside health systems. The role leads a five-person client-embedded team, partners with internal research and development leaders, and shapes conversational AI solutions that deliver measurable improvements to hospital operations.
Responsibilities - Build deep understanding of client context to identify high-leverage opportunities for AI Operational Assistant workflows - Design, execute, and optimize bespoke conversational AI use cases on site at the client - Leverage large language models and agentic frameworks to build advanced conversational systems, including state machines, decision trees, and graph-based flows - Integrate bots with APIs, CRMs, and enterprise systems through custom scripts and external system connections - Continuously tune and improve AI agents using real user data, resolving breakdowns and fallback issues - Develop unit, regression, and A/B tests to ensure conversational performance and implement real-time monitoring, analytics, and logging - Collaborate with internal architects, engineers, and data scientists as well as client end-users and IT teams to define and refine product requirements - Document conversation logic, prompt structures, and decision workflows, and mentor cross-functional teammates
Requirements - Five or more years of experience in product management or solution architect roles with a strong delivery track record - Hands-on experience with agentic design, prompt engineering, and prompt architecture - Strong coding proficiency - Excellent communicator able to influence and collaborate across all levels, including executives - Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with evolving objectives and iterative user feedback - Willingness to travel to client sites as needed, expected between 25% and 50%
Nice to have - Experience with voice-enabled conversational AI systems - Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation - Knowledge of knowledge graphs applied in AI agent workflows - Prior experience building AI agents or automated workflows in healthcare or other regulated industries - Background in healthcare operations, medicine, or healthcare finance
Benefits and work setup - Salary range: $220,000 - $245,000 USD, based on market data and factors including location, skills, and experience - Open paid time off, paid parental leave, professional development funding, wellness and technology stipends, employee referral bonus, and equity awards
