About this role

Role overview A hybrid position based in Endicott, NY for an embedded software engineer focused on real-time, safety-critical systems. The role designs, develops, integrates, and validates low-level embedded software that powers mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, collaborating across software, hardware, FPGA, and verification teams.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using C, C++, and Assembly - Build low-level software including device drivers, board support packages, boot code, and processor initialization - Optimize software performance on ARM-based multicore processors and analyze deterministic timing behavior - Support hardware/software integration with FPGA, ASIC, and embedded hardware platforms - Perform system integration, debugging, and verification using ARM DS IDE, DSTREAM, and Python automation - Participate in software architecture, code reviews, and verification activities aligned to DO-178C

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline - Four or more years of experience developing embedded software - Strong programming background in embedded C and C++ - Experience with real-time embedded systems, firmware, or low-level development - Hands-on work with multicore processors or ARM-based architectures and hardware debugging tools - Familiarity with DO-178C or other regulated safety-critical software environments - U.S. citizenship

Nice to have Experience with ARM or NXP S32 processors, RTOS or bare-metal development, BSPs, boot loaders, FPGA or ASIC interfaces, Python automation, cache management, worst-case execution time analysis, multicore synchronization, avionics, aerospace, defense, electronic warfare, flight controls, DO-178C Level A, or an active security clearance.

Benefits and work setup Hybrid schedule in Endicott, NY. Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 USD based on experience and certifications.
