About this role

Role overview A hybrid embedded software engineering role based in Endicott, NY focused on platform enablement and hardware integration for safety-critical systems. The position collaborates across software, hardware, FPGA, ASIC, and systems engineering teams to develop low-level firmware, bring up new hardware, and deliver reliable real-time embedded solutions.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using C, C++, and Assembly - Develop board support packages, boot code, device drivers, and processor initialization routines - Support new hardware bring-up, board initialization, and hardware/software integration efforts - Integrate software with FPGA, ASIC, and System-on-Chip platforms - Implement embedded communication interfaces such as PCIe, TSN, AFDX, and other real-time protocols - Debug embedded systems using ARM DS IDE, DSTREAM, and related hardware debugging tools, and build Python automation - Participate in architecture, design reviews, testing, and technical documentation while improving engineering processes

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline - Four or more years of experience developing embedded software or firmware - Strong programming background in embedded C and C++ - Experience with low-level embedded software, firmware, or platform development - Hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware initialization, or hardware/software integration - Familiarity with ARM processors, SoCs, or similar embedded platforms, including FPGA, ASIC, or custom hardware interfaces - Experience debugging embedded systems with hardware debugging tools - U.S. citizenship

Nice to have Experience with BSPs, device drivers, boot loaders, processor initialization, ARM architecture, SoC platforms, FPGA or ASIC integration, PCIe, AFDX, Time-Sensitive Networking, RTOS, bare-metal or embedded Linux, Python, ARM DS IDE, DSTREAM, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DO-178C, DO-254, aerospace, avionics, defense, safety-critical systems, or an active security clearance.

Benefits and work setup Hybrid schedule in Endicott, NY. Pay ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 USD depending on experience and certifications.
