Head of Delivery

Role overview A senior technical leadership role serving as the highest technical authority at a small, senior federal IT services and consulting firm that partners with a major data platform vendor. The position owns the mission-outcome method, technical standard, and architecture across the company's portfolio, while still staying hands-on as a deploying engineer on live customer work.

Responsibilities - Define and teach the mission-outcome method, and judge whether proposed outcomes are real and buildable. - Set and document the technical standard, including ontology and data model design, build patterns, security posture, testing, and design review. - Stay billable at roughly 40%, dropping into live builds, workshops, or stalled engagements to unstick the hardest problems. - Lead, manage, and hold accountable the technical delivery corps and Delivery Operations, and own the technical hiring bar. - Serve as the technical face to the platform partner, advise customers, and shape solutions alongside the Growth function. - Document reusable build patterns, create accelerators, and develop hub-local technical leads to make capability replicable.

Requirements - Ten or more years in software, data, or forward-deployed engineering, with a track record of personally shipping systems into production. - Three or more years leading technical teams, including direct people leadership over engineers across hiring, development, and performance management. - Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, Gotham, or AIP, or with a directly comparable forward-deployed engineering model. - Demonstrated ownership of a technical standard across more than one team, and experience holding an operations or program-management function accountable through a direct report. - Executive presence with senior customer stakeholders, willingness to carry a permanent billable delivery load around 40%, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.

Nice to have Prior experience as a Palantir Forward Deployed Engineer, Deployment Strategist, or partner-side delivery leader; defense, intelligence, or national security background; an active or recent clearance; or familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System framework.

Benefits and work setup Remote with preference for hub or hub-aligned locations including San Diego, CA, St. Petersburg, FL, and Huntsville, AL, plus the National Capital Region. Regular travel is expected to customer sites and company hubs. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and hold a security clearance are required.
