Role overview Lead a team of pre-sales Systems Engineers supporting U.S. national security and defense industrial base clients as they modernize data strategies with all-flash storage, cloud, and AI-driven solutions. This is a technical leadership role combining people management with hands-on customer engagement across the DC/MD/VA region, with active TS/SCI clearance required.
Responsibilities - Coach and develop a high-performing team of Federal-focused Systems Engineers, fostering technical growth and career progression - Help shape and execute the technical pre-sales strategy for storage, cloud, and AI data platform opportunities in the territory - Serve as the lead technical authority, deepening customer understanding of their mission drivers and decision criteria - Translate customer business needs into architecture recommendations spanning storage, distributed storage, file systems, and DAS/NAS/SAN designs - Drive team contributions to RFI/RFP responses, interoperability testing, and joint roadmap exchanges with customers and partners - Track market and competitive trends to position the team as thought leaders across storage and data platform topics
Requirements - Active TS/SCI security clearance - 8+ years managing high-performing Sales or Systems Engineers selling into U.S. Federal and Intelligence accounts - 10+ years supporting sales of storage, networking, or systems solutions to large accounts and data centers - Deep knowledge of U.S. Government IT architectures, including multi-tier client/server and web-based designs - Strong grasp of modern storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN), cloud-native patterns, on-prem, public cloud, provisioning automation, and containers - Working knowledge of VMware, LAN, Ethernet, and TCP/IP, plus a technical degree in CS, EE, or equivalent experience
