Principal PLM Architect

Role overview Shape and guide complex product lifecycle management (PLM) implementations, with a focus on Windchill environments. You will translate business needs into scalable solution designs, advise clients and partners through technical decisions, and help ensure solutions are deployable, aligned with enterprise goals, and adopted successfully.

Responsibilities - Gather and analyze business use cases across client functions and turn them into end-to-end PLM solution designs. - Lead the design, implementation, and validation of PLM solutions, coordinating with implementation architects and internal technology teams. - Assess technical feasibility, inform estimates and plans, and advise on cloud infrastructure and deployment standards. - Facilitate client workshops, document process challenges, and develop practical solution roadmaps. - Support data migration, configuration, and integrations using relevant platform frameworks and development technologies. - Guide project teams, contribute to delivery governance, and share field feedback, methods, and enablement materials with product and partner teams.

Requirements - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field. - Seven to twelve years of experience implementing, deploying, supporting, or consulting on PLM systems, with substantial Windchill experience. - Proven ability to architect enterprise PLM solutions, including process-centered deployments and application design. - Knowledge of cloud service models and enterprise application frameworks. - Software development or deployment experience with Java, JSP, XML, and Ant. - Strong communication and leadership skills, including the ability to explain technical choices to both engineering and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have Experience leading multi-solution PLM programs, familiarity with SaaS PLM architecture, or a record of supporting adoption and client transformation. Industry experience in automotive, medical technology, or government is useful; contributions to training or consulting methods are also valued.
