Role overview This opportunity invites neuroscience researchers in the Wollongong area to serve as expert reviewers for an AI verification project focused on graphical abstracts of scientific papers. Participants apply their subject-matter knowledge to judge whether AI-generated summaries faithfully capture dense technical research. It is a flexible, ad hoc engagement with paid hourly rates.
Responsibilities - Read source neuroscience publications and the corresponding AI-generated graphical abstracts. - Detect discrepancies, errors, or oversimplifications between the source paper and the AI visual summary. - Confirm that terminology, methods, and key findings are accurately depicted and not misrepresented. - Provide actionable written feedback that supports iterative model improvements. - Complete a paid skills assessment using a sample neuroscience paper and abstract to qualify.
Requirements - Master's or PhD in Neuroscience or an adjacent field. - Deep familiarity with neuroscience research methods, terminology, and literature. - Track record of careful analytical work, including fact-checking or detailed review. - Strong judgment for assessing both visual summaries and underlying scientific claims. - Comfort working independently in a remote, task-driven environment.
Nice to have - Prior involvement in AI annotation, training, or evaluation projects. - Experience in scientific publishing, peer review, or journal editing.
