About this role
Role overview A remote, contract-based engagement is open for neuroscience specialists to act as evaluators on an AI quality-verification study. The work centres on judging whether AI-generated graphical abstracts faithfully reflect the scientific papers they summarise. It is a flexible, ad-hoc opportunity paid at $40+/h, ideal for researchers who want to contribute domain expertise without a traditional employment commitment.
Responsibilities - Pair source scientific papers with corresponding LLM-generated graphical abstracts for review. - Pinpoint inaccuracies, omissions, and visual-textual misrepresentations in the AI output. - Verify that neuroscience concepts, methods, and findings are summarised correctly both visually and in text. - Pass a paid skills assessment using a sample paper before being admitted to the study. - Deliver expert-level judgments that inform the development of more accurate AI summarisation tools.
Requirements - Master's or PhD in Neuroscience or an adjacent field such as cognitive science, neurobiology, or biomedical science. - Deep familiarity with research methods, terminology, and conventions in neuroscience. - Demonstrable experience with fact-checking, peer review, or other rigorous analytical work. - Sharp attention to detail and the ability to articulate specific issues clearly.
Nice to have - Prior exposure to AI training, model evaluation, or human-in-the-loop data work. - A background in scientific publishing, editing, or formal peer review.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work with flexible hours and on-demand scheduling. - Hourly pay of $40 or higher. - Quick onboarding once the qualifying assessment is complete.
