Role overview An AI-focused human data platform is seeking experienced trainers in or near Auckland, New Zealand to help evaluate and refine cutting-edge machine learning models. Selected candidates join a self-employed participant pool and complete paid, task-based assignments that supply researchers with the human feedback essential to model improvement. The position is remote and centered on short, focused contributions rather than fixed schedules.
Responsibilities - Carry out AI training tasks that include analyzing, editing, and writing annotations on model outputs - Judge AI performance across diverse prompts and submit structured evaluations - Identify factual errors, unsafe content, and quality issues to support better model alignment - Contribute well-labeled data that helps researchers benchmark and improve model behavior
Requirements - Verifiable professional experience as an AI trainer or in data annotation, evaluation, or related quality work - Willingness to complete a 10–15 minute skills assessment before being added to the participant pool - Sharp attention to detail and the ability to concentrate for up to an hour on demanding tasks - A reliable, fast internet connection and a suitable personal computer - A PayPal account to receive per-task payments - Comfort with self-employed contractor status and self-reporting earned income
Nice to have - Experience rating generative AI outputs for quality, safety, or helpfulness - Background in prompt engineering, content moderation, linguistics, or research support
