Job details
About this role
Role overview
A research initiative focused on AI language quality is looking for fluent Kazakh speakers to serve as human evaluators of model-generated text. The work involves reading short AI-written passages and judging how close they come to genuine, idiomatic Kazakh, providing the kind of grounded human feedback that improves model performance. Contributors join as paid study participants, picking up tasks on a flexible basis.
Responsibilities
- Perform side-by-side evaluations of text snippets to identify the more natural-sounding version. - Assess the authenticity of AI-written Kazakh at sentence and passage level. - Highlight cases where word choice, idioms, or tone feel unnatural or culturally out of place. - Verify that formality and register align with the implied audience and situation. - Tag and comment on samples, describing naturalness and quality in clear written feedback.
Requirements
- Demonstrated fluency in Kazakh, with strong intuition for everyday usage. - Comfortable working in English, since task instructions and reporting happen in English. - High attention to detail and patience for repetitive, careful reading. - A personal computer and a quiet setting suited to concentration. - A PayPal account in good standing for receiving compensation.
Nice to have
- Academic or professional background in linguistics, translation, or applied language work.
Benefits and work setup
- Researcher-set pay typically ranges from about $20 to $26 per hour. - Remote work with tasks released individually, so contributors see time and pay before accepting. - Expect some sessions to require up to one uninterrupted hour; many are shorter.
