About this role

Role overview An opportunity to join a product engineering team building the core engine and user experience of a cloud-based procurement and accounts-payable automation platform used by mid-market organizations. The role spans both backend and frontend work, contributing end-to-end features that help businesses control spend and streamline purchasing workflows. It suits a pragmatic engineer who enjoys working across the stack in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship full-stack features, from RESTful APIs and backend services to responsive, accessible frontend components. - Develop scalable backend services handling data storage and business logic, with attention to performance, reliability, and integration quality. - Implement reusable React and TypeScript UI components, collaborating with product and design to deliver intuitive user experiences. - Contribute to database schema design, write efficient and secure queries, and safeguard data-layer performance and integrity. - Champion clean, testable, maintainable code through active participation in code reviews and knowledge sharing. - Investigate defects, performance bottlenecks, and stability issues, helping strengthen the overall system architecture.

Requirements - Three or more years of professional hands-on experience across both frontend and backend systems, ideally within a SaaS product. - Strong proficiency with Python and a major web framework, paired with experience building modern React and TypeScript applications, including component-based architecture and state management. - Daily working proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor to streamline tasks and scaffold features. - Experience with relational databases (MySQL or similar), writing efficient queries and contributing to schema design. - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD pipelines, plus agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban. - A collaborative, empathetic approach with strong communication skills and a customer-centric mindset.

Nice to have - Exposure to AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI. - Experience influencing technical architecture decisions in a growing platform.

Benefits and work setup - Remote-first organization with flexible working hours, based in Canada. - Responsible time-off policy, extended health, vision, and dental coverage, an Employee Assistance Program, and a wellness spending account. - Stock options, community engagement programs, and ongoing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. - On-target earnings range of approximately $108,150 to $135,450 CAD, with a variable component and eligibility for equity.
