BI Analyst - Game Operations

Role overview

Data-centric analyst embedded within a Game Operations business intelligence team supporting a daily fantasy sports platform. The position empowers operational decision-making through specialized analyses, dashboards, and data expertise that enhance outcomes for game mechanics, product performance, and user behavior.

Responsibilities

- Distill large datasets into recommendations with clear visualizations and concise talking points - Scope and complete ad-hoc data requests on game mechanics, product, or user performance - Build, document, and maintain easy-to-use dashboards and reusable analyses - Partner with Game Operations and Product teams to address data, performance, and process gaps - Enhance datasets to support nuanced analysis and reporting - Serve as subject matter expert on data, pricing, users, and game operations or mechanics

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in statistics, finance, math, or business analysis - Advanced SQL, data visualization (Tableau), and Excel formula skills - Background as an analyst in gaming, consulting, finance, or data science roles - Extensive knowledge or experience in sports, gaming, DFS, pricing, trading, or finance - Organized, curious, communicative team player with data-driven critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

- Competitive-level play or optimization experience in sports, DFS, or other games - Personal projects related to sports, gaming, trading, pricing, prediction markets, or finance - Knowledge of Python, R, MATLAB, or other programming languages
