About this role

Role overview Set product direction and drive execution for tools that help developers and researchers build, evaluate, and improve AI models. Working within an engineering team, you will connect customer and research needs with infrastructure capabilities across training, inference, evaluations, secure environments, and deployment. San Francisco is preferred, with remote work possible for a suitable candidate.

Responsibilities - Shape a focused roadmap with founders and technical leads, deciding which product problems matter most. - Coordinate product work across teams developing model training, inference, and sandbox capabilities. - Work directly with customers and internal researchers to understand real workflows, identify friction, and validate product ideas. - Stay involved from prototypes and product specifications through design reviews and engineering working sessions. - Track outcomes such as time to first useful result, repeat use, production adoption, and customer support needs; use evidence to refine priorities.

Requirements - Track record of building and growing a technical product used in production. - Experience leading teams while staying hands-on and knowing when to guide work or contribute directly. - Technical depth to prototype, work with APIs, and discuss system trade-offs with engineers. - Experience in developer tools, AI infrastructure, or machine learning platforms. - Strong customer discovery and writing skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear next steps. - Care for product usability and a commitment to making experiences simpler and more useful.

Nice to have Design engineering experience and a record of shipping polished product experiences. Experience with training, inference, multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning, continual learning, or evaluation systems is particularly useful.
