Role overview
A senior, fully remote role for a database programming lead within a clinical research organization supporting oncology studies and other therapeutic areas. The position owns the full lifecycle of clinical database development, validation, and support across multiple studies and study programs for European-based delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all programming aspects of clinical databases, including development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and post-database-lock support for assigned projects. - Lead operational study teams and programming team members, delivering operational and technical training to end users and junior staff. - Forecast project hours, identify resource requirements, and manage budgets including out-of-scope work and post-production changes. - Build, validate, and provide advanced system administration for clinical databases, related programs, and third-party applications, troubleshooting issues as they arise. - Develop study-specific validation documents, contribute to SOPs and process documentation, and participate in software vendor selection and EDC demonstrations. - Coordinate with sponsors, vendors, and internal project teams on data, database, and project issues, presenting at meetings and trainings as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Strong oncology experience, with autoimmune disease exposure considered a strong plus. - Hands-on proficiency with Rave and Veeva EDC platforms. - Working knowledge of CDISC standards including CDASH, SDTM, and ADaM. - Object-oriented programming experience in languages such as C#, C++, or VBS. - Proficiency building forms, edit checks, and complex rules across more than one clinical data management system, with broad familiarity in drug, device, or biologic development and effective data management practices. - Strong organizational and communication skills, professional written and spoken English, and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal ability.
