About this role
Role overview A senior leadership role responsible for owning the strategy, roadmap, and operational performance of commercial technology systems supporting a pharmaceutical product launch and ongoing growth. Reporting to the VP of IT, the position partners across Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Market Access to translate business priorities into a coordinated technology agenda. The role is remote-first with willingness to travel as needed, and combines strategic planning with hands-on accountability for delivery, reliability, and adoption.
Responsibilities - Own the commercial systems strategy and roadmap, translating launch milestones into sequenced investments and measurable outcomes across CRM, commercial data, field enablement, and connected platforms. - Establish business ownership and decision-making, aligning stakeholders on requirements, data definitions, priorities, and acceptance criteria while resolving tradeoffs. - Lead delivery from planning through adoption, coordinating internal teams and implementation partners, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring operational readiness. - Partner with Data & Analytics to define commercial data, reporting, and data quality requirements, including continuity plans when AI interfaces are unavailable. - Manage vendor performance, budgets, license utilization, renewals, and technology investment cases in collaboration with Finance, Procurement, and Legal. - Lead launch readiness activities including user acceptance testing, training, change management, adoption measurement, and contingency planning. - Partner with Security, Privacy, Legal, and Quality to embed access controls, data stewardship, and compliance into commercial workflows.
Requirements - 10+ years of experience in commercial technology, enterprise applications, or commercial operations systems, including leadership of complex cross-functional initiatives. - Background supporting pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial operations with systems delivery for a product launch or major commercial expansion. - Strong understanding of CRM, field workflows, commercial data, digital engagement, and integrations, ideally with Veeva, Salesforce, or comparable platforms. - Technical fluency in data flows, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud data platforms sufficient to assess designs and guide engineering teams. - Experience leading requirements definition, user acceptance testing, change management, and transition to ongoing support. - Sound judgment with sensitive commercial and healthcare data, partnering across IT, Security, Legal, Privacy, and Quality functions.
