Staff Software Enginer (Remote)

Role overview Join a small, highly autonomous engineering team building AI-powered consumer products used by millions of people worldwide. This Staff-level role blends strong engineering fundamentals with product intuition, design taste, and a bias toward shipping in a fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment. The position is fully remote and reports directly to company leadership.

Responsibilities - Own features end to end, from initial concept through production, iteration, and ongoing improvements. - Partner with company leadership and a small engineering team to define what should be built and why. - Turn ambiguous ideas and loosely defined problems into concrete, user-facing products. - Make strong technical and product decisions without waiting for complete specifications. - Challenge product requirements constructively and propose better approaches when appropriate. - Use modern AI and agentic engineering tools to accelerate development and improve workflows. - Balance shipping speed with engineering quality and long-term maintainability, contributing to technical direction and engineering culture.

Requirements - 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping production software. - Experience building and launching consumer-facing products at meaningful scale. - Proven ability to own complex features or products end to end. - Background as a founding engineer, early-stage startup contributor, or similar high-autonomy environment. - Strong product sense and an understanding of how technical decisions affect users. - Comfort with ambiguity, first-principles thinking, and challenging decisions constructively. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a proactive, autonomous working style.

Nice to have - Experience as a founding engineer or one of the first engineers at a startup. - Background building products from zero through launch and operating where requirements evolve rapidly. - Experience with AI-native or AI-powered consumer products and agentic engineering workflows. - History of shipping products with millions of users.
