Role overview
Conduct strategic and tactical user research for healthcare products serving complex clinical, payer, and financial workflows. This six-month contract partners closely with Product and UX Design from early discovery through delivery, turning customer evidence into product strategy, design direction, and usability improvements. The role is available remotely within Canada or in a hybrid arrangement near Mississauga, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and UX Design to define discovery plans, identify relevant customers and stakeholders, and select appropriate research methods. - Lead end-to-end studies, including participant recruitment, discussion-guide creation, facilitation, analysis, synthesis, and communication of findings. - Use surveys, interviews, remote feedback, usability testing, and prototype-based research as appropriate to the question being investigated. - Conduct user outreach, use-case discovery, persona and journey mapping, validation, and usability evaluations using neutral, consistent practices. - Translate research evidence into actionable recommendations for Product, Design, Engineering, and other stakeholders. - Lead workshops, communicate research decisions and outcomes to leadership, and provide project guidance to researchers and designers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a UX researcher or in a comparable customer-focused research role. - Bachelor’s degree in psychology, statistics, human-computer interaction, information systems, or a related discipline. - Demonstrated ability to create research strategies, develop discussion guides, select methods, conduct studies, and synthesize findings quickly. - Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, with the ability to turn user feedback into decisions for broad audiences. - Experience with tools such as Dovetail, User Interviews, Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, Pendo, or comparable research and product-insight platforms. - Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting findings, explaining trade-offs, persuading stakeholders, and articulating alternatives. Limited customer-site travel, approximately four times annually, is expected.
Nice to have
Experience researching healthcare, medical, regulated, payer, acute-care, or financial applications; collaboration using Figma and Miro; and practical use of AI assistants such as Claude or Microsoft Copilot in research workflows.
Benefits and work setup
This is a six-month contract offered remotely within Canada or in a hybrid arrangement near Mississauga, Ontario. The listed Canadian hourly rate is CAD $60.00–$66.68. Remote work may include occasional travel to company offices for onboarding and team events.
