AI Design Engineer

Role overview A design-engineering hybrid role tasked with owning and finishing a product design system from end to end. The position audits existing applications, fills remaining gaps in the system, aligns every screen to the new standards, and enforces compliance so future work ships consistently without manual review.

Responsibilities - Audit current applications to identify inconsistencies, missing patterns, and gaps in the design system. - Complete the design system by defining missing components, tokens, and documentation. - Refactor or update existing screens so they conform to the finalized system. - Establish governance and review processes that make adherence the default for new features. - Partner with product and engineering to ensure design intent survives implementation.

Requirements - Significant experience owning a design system at a product-led company or large application. - Strong visual design craft combined with systems thinking and documentation discipline. - Ability to perform design audits and translate findings into a concrete roadmap. - Familiarity working closely with engineers, including reviewing implementations for fidelity. - Comfort enforcing standards across teams without slowing delivery.

Nice to have - Experience designing for AI-driven or LLM-powered product surfaces. - Background contributing to or maintaining an open-source or public design system.
